Pat Ford of New Braunfels, Texas, makes her statement subtly. Her wildlife paintings say, "Share the beauty. Share the innocence," without sentimentality or rhetoric. The soft, muted colors of the prairies and woods are an invitation to us all to care - to preserve while we can. Ford's commitment to wildlife is as pronounced in her personal life as in her work. She supports several wildlife conservation groups and has donated several paintings to some of her favorite causes. Her paintings are owned by many prominent collectors, including Senator Lloyd Bentsen, Mr. and Mrs. Allan Shivers, John Connally, Gladys Porter, Joe Haggar, Charles Gates, Carlo Rossi and David Winterman. She was a finalist in the 1979 Federal Duck Stamp competition and has been included in the Ducks Unlimited Annual Show in Beverly Hills. She also has participated in the Annual Art of American West Show in Tulsa, The Gladys Porter Zoo Zoofari show, various museum shows and shows at the Brock Watson Gallery in Corpus Christi, Texas. |
