Greg Beecham specializes in depicting wildlife in their natural habitat. His work is known for its story telling ability, especially his methods of creating excitement that draws the viewer into the art.

Greg confesses to a simple love for animals and birds. (He has won state duck stamp contest awards in both Idaho and Washington.) But, he notes that the abstract beauty of nature's patterns in animal habitats, and pattern changes in light and shadows, greatly inspire him to paint. "Actually, I think of myself as an abstract painter who happens to end up with his work looking real," explains Greg.

A former boatswain's mate and Navy corpsman, Greg was an art major at Southern Oregon State College and also took drawing classes at Bremerton Olympic Community College in Seattle; however, he received his most intense and beneficial fine art instruction under the tutelage of his father, noted wildlife artist Tom Beecham, who resides in Colorado.

Various other awards have come to Greg Beecham in recognition of his talent, including being voted "People's Choice" artist at the 1990 Pacific Rim Wildlife Show in Tacoma, and the 1991 Kinney Family Wildlife Award in the Western Art Association Show in Ellensburg. A member of The Society of Animal Artists, some of Greg's work is part of the permanent collection of the Clymer Museum in Ellensburg and the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum.

"My goal," comments the personable Beecham, "is to continue growing as an artist and to share my vision of this beautiful creation. In so doing, perhaps my love and concern for what God has entrusted us with will pass on to others."
